Iceland - aerial photographs
by Rog PalmerFlight from Reykjavik to the volcano at Eyjafjallajökull. As a group of archaeologists who take and work with aerial photos, we had been planning some flying on this trip but the eruption put paid to easy access to aircraft as they were all ferrying tourists to the volcano. A cancellation gave us an evening slot (6-8pm) that provided some soft light as well as a few minutes at the volcano.

Iceland - skies
by Rog PalmerA small selection of the skies and clouds I photographed in Iceland. Some of these are close to photographs in other albums but are not (I hope) duplicates. Almost impressionist art in places - but much better at full screen size.

Iceland - field trip SE of Reykjavik
by Rog PalmerThe European Archaeological Consortium, who were hosting the meeting at Reykjavik, laid on a field trip to some archaeological sites (Þingvellir, Skálholt, Keldur) ending near the volcanic eruption at Eyjafjallajökull. This last was a major tourist attraction for the Icelanders who were setting up for a night's entertainment when we left.

Iceland - trip to Reykholt area
by Rog PalmerWe hired a car and went north. There are more skies than anything else - many taken from the car, a larva field and torrential stream and waterfalls. The moving water made some art.

Reykjavik
by Rog PalmerImpressions of Reykjavik - lots of sky, interesting light, a few buildings, Hallgrímskirkja (church), Viking boat sculpture, odds and sods. Our guesthouse was next to the church so we had the chance to see it in different light.

Light and Iceland - 2007
by James AppletonOne month spent trekking and travelling around South and East Iceland - some familiar places, some new places, but all with a fresh approach and dynamic attitude. This time around, it was all about the photographs and all about attaching a bold, personal style to them.

by James AppletonSomething of an eye-opener...
Definitely the three most memorable weeks of my life to date, when I discovered what it is that I truly want from life.
