Oi Va Voi @ Cambridge Junction 2009
by Claude SchneiderOi Va Voi returned to the Cambridge Junction touring for their third album, Travelling The Face Of The Globe. Since the last time I photographed them in 2007, their female violinist and bassist have changed again, but the band sounded as great as ever, if not better.
While they get through violinists at a rate of knots, they're all very photogenic, full of energy, and very gifted. Just like the rest of the band.
Again, they were supported by the jazzy and very funky grooves of Gil Karpas.
More photos from the gig can be viewed by clicking the link at the top right.

Oi Va Voi @ Cambridge Junction 2007
by Claude SchneiderOi Va Voi returned to the Cambridge Junction touring for their second, eponymous, album. Since the last time I photographed them a year ago, their female vocalist and violinist have changed yet again, but the band sounded as great as ever.
Again, they were supported by the jazzy grooves of Gil Karpas.

Oi Va Voi @ Cambridge Junction 2006
by Claude SchneiderThe amazing Oi Va Voi came back to Cambridge to perform at The Junction. Having won a BBC World Music award for their debut album, "Laughter Through Tears", they are due to release a follow-up album in March 2007, and from the sound of their packed gig, it should be great. Nik and Steve provide excellent vocals and solos. Recent joiners Alice McLaughlin (vocals) and Haylie Ecker (violinist with the group "Bond") are wonderful new members of the band, very lovely in person, and rather photogenic!
